How the Lenfest Local Lab Celebrated Thanksgiving during the COVID-19 Pandemic

The Lenfest Lab’s meals included hot pot, lobster and clams, and food from Fishtown-area businesses.

Last week in The Hook, I asked subscribers to submit photos and a short blurb about how they plan to safely stay connected with others during the holidays. You can read that edition here.

The holidays are a hectic time — people forget to take photos, some may not want their celebrations in a newsletter or they may not have seen the call-out because it was cut off for subscribers using Gmail, making it difficult to see.

I wanted to still highlight how our team stayed safely connected with friends and family over Thanksgiving.

Below are some photos of how some of our team safely celebrated the holiday.

If you have some photos of how you’re staying connected during the holidays, send them my way at kelly@lenfestinstitute.org, and I’ll feature them in The Hook.

Kelly celebrated with her partner by cooking their favorite Thanksgiving dishes and starting the day by mobile-ordering lattes from ReAnimator Coffee Roasters.

They opted out of turkey and instead ordered beef tri-tip from Primal Supply Meats, which just opened a shop in Fishtown. They also Zoomed with their families who had their own celebrations.
